And what about my poor home province of British Columbia? Pounded by rain two weeks ago, many parts (including my hometown) were left flooded. That was followed by hurricane-force winds last week. And now, today, most of the southern part of the province was on the receiving end of 20-50cm of snow! Heavy, wet snow that broke branches and downed power lines. (The photo above is of Victoria, the capital of the province, and about a 3-hour drive from my hometown.) The temperature dipped down to -20 with the windchill – something absolutely unheard-of on the normally mild west coast. It’s been years since it even snowed in November. My old home is getting weather that’s the norm for my current home on the prairies, while things have been relatively mild and stable here. Not to worry; as mentioned above, that’s not likely to last for long.
