Back with a vengeance
Friday, 11 July 2008 | 11:44I’m back on the prairies, the rain is pouring down in buckets, and the dark sky is sparsely lit by zigzagging lightning. It’s 11:30 on a Friday morning, and, inspired by the paperwork inferno in which I have been trapped, I chose to procrastinate by taking this little time-wasting quiz.
You want to watch out for those heretics; they’re a scary bunch.
The Dante’s Inferno Test has banished you to the Sixth Level of Hell – The City of Dis!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
| Level | Score |
|---|---|
| Purgatory (Repenting Believers) | Very Low |
| Level 1 – Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers) | Moderate |
| Level 2 (Lustful) | Very High |
| Level 3 (Gluttonous) | High |
| Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious) | Very Low |
| Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy) | Moderate |
| Level 6 – The City of Dis (Heretics) | Very High |
| Level 7 (Violent) | High |
| Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers) | High |
| Level 9 – Cocytus (Treacherous) | High |
Take the Dante Inferno Hell Test

Looks like we’ll both hang out on Level 6 of this imaginary place.
As they (I) said in the Blasphemy Challenge, “See you in hell!”
Oh, how I wish I had the script to Fringe’s “Heretic” play that we’ve seen years ago. I have a feeling I’d have a new appreciation for it (not suggesting I had not appreciated it before.)
Ask, and ye shall receive…
Your comment prompted me to do a little digging, and voilà: it appears the one-man stage show has been turned into a book, to be released this fall! (See here.)
Oddly enough, there was apparently another play at the Fringe, called ‘Heretic’, which was a one-woman show and garnered rave reviews.
