The program ran from the mid-80s to early 90s, and was considered ground-breaking at the time, as all four of the main characters were senior citizens - highly unusual for a prime-time American comedy. But the writing was sharp and witty, and the acting was fabulous, and the show was lauded by critics and the general public alike.
