"Have you ever walked into a half-empty Parisian restaurant, only to be told that it’s 'complet'? Been overlooked at the boulangerie due to your adherence to the bizarre foreign custom of waiting in line? Well, you’re not alone."
Clarke's book actually contains 11 "commandments", ranging in topics from how to deal with sadistic receptionists and cashiers, to an extremely funny section about "living with bacteria". He's quite blunt, though, and some passages are rather rude; but I found most of his observations to be spot-on. Utterly hilarious - though maybe less so to French people! :D
