J’ai bien paressé à Cannes. En effet j’y vais pendant le festival car j’aime observer les gens et c’est une occasion de me trouver dans une ambiance internationale.
I’m not a stars goggler rather I enjoy observing the crowds and talking to the individuals. The atmosphere is interesting during the festival since people in the streets easily talk to perfect strangers.There are no drunks nor doped people even late at night, just crowds milling about around the Palais du Festival and hôtels. Boats in the bay are all lighted up and a wonderful sight.My friends have a sailboat anchored in the old port “Le Suquet” right next to the huge christcrafts and they lend me their apartment in town just five minutes away from the Croisette, the center of happenings. It was much fun to walk the restaurant-lined rue du Suquet and hear all the different conversations going on (tables are set on the sidewalk) in so many different languages. Festival attendants are all dressed up and it’s a rare sight to see men walking around in tuxedos in bright daylight around lunchtime, escorting beautifully dressed ladies.
On my way back home I stopped at Pest’s house and was treated to a very warm welcome. Something to look forward to when you visit with us next year.
