"Owl Jolson" as the stage name, and "Jack Bunny" (as opposed to the real-life Jack Benny) as the talent scout... :) <i>Looney Tunes</i> and <i>Merrie Melodies</i> shorts are always chock full of puns and references to literary and cinematic works; while some (such as the cartoon above) have been criticized as being politically incorrect (and some certainly are), they're undoubtedly some of the most intelligent and witty cartoons around!
