Thank you for your supportive message. We found out that (as I suspected) fresh flowers are indeed permitted in my Baba's ward; and that they will waive the "2 visitors only at a time" rule for a short while so that her entire (immediate) family can gather at her bedside to sing! Afterwards in the visitor's lounge there will be even more family as well as some of the other visiting families we've become close to during the past few weeks... It should be quite the party!
I will write more on this in a couple of days, after the celebration...

Flowers, bright colors, what a sweet idea to offer to your Baba. Even if she can't yet talk I'm sure her eyes will tell you how much she appreciates.
I feel you're right, she's progressing. Perhaps your family has a non mentionned fear that she relapses so they don't dare to rejoice yet. But I share your views, every little step forward is encouraging and every occasion for rejoicing should be used to the full.Only in the passing moment can we experiment life to the fullest.Yesterday is gone and tomorrow will be what we make it if it ever comes to us.
Many happy returns to your Baba . Think ahead, 1 day, 1 month, 1 year.....
Don't you find our mountains of anguish become anthills when looked upon in retrospect?
